The stair
It creaks on the third step and nowhere else. We have stopped trying to fix it. Guests learn the noise in the first night and sleep better for it.

A watch-house from 1938, rebuilt slowly. Eleven minutes' walk from the water, breakfast until eleven, one table at eight. Nothing else is scheduled.

Soluna House · since 1938
Soluna House was a watch-house in 1938 — one room, one window, one man awake for the boats. It is now six rooms and the same window, facing the same water, with a courtyard where the bins used to be.
We keep breakfast until eleven because nobody on this coast wakes early and nobody should be asked to pretend otherwise. Lunch is whatever the boat brought. Dinner is at one table, at eight, and you are welcome to be late to it.
“We keep the lamp lit for the boats. It is not decoration.”
— Ada, who has run the house since 2019

The House
It creaks on the third step and nowhere else. We have stopped trying to fix it. Guests learn the noise in the first night and sleep better for it.
One long room on the ground floor with the salt doors open. Wet swimsuits, books, a dog, a deck of cards nobody finishes. It is the reason the house feels bigger than six rooms.
Ada cooks, Chiara does the wine, and the oven is the only modern appliance in the building. Dinner is served once, at the table, and is the closest thing to a scheduled event.
Two thousand paperbacks, mostly donated and mostly unread, plus eleven books of Ligurian weather that nobody is allowed to take upstairs.
Six chairs, one tree, and the only reliable press on the coast. Guests are trusted with the lever and the results are their own problem.
Cut into the rock below the terrace, fed by the sea and empty from November to March. There is no heating and there will never be any.

Journal
Nadia has photographed the same corner of the terrace every morning at 07:20 for a year. We gave her the north room so she would stop walking past our door to get there.
read 22.09.26It held rain, weeds and one enormous bin. Now it holds a lemon tree, six chairs, and whatever Ada is doing to the anchovies.
read 09.08.26People come here to be on time. They then discover that nothing on this coast happens before noon, and that this is the entire point of the place.
read 30.06.26The last boat back leaves at 19:40 and the second is gone. Most guests learn this on the first evening. Nobody has ever left angry about it twice.

There are six rooms and one price for the season, so it is less a booking form and more a note. Tell us when, tell us who, and we will tell you which room the light suits.
